Replacement 7-Way Trailer Connector Recommendation for a 2006 Ford F-150

Question:

I own a 2006 Ford F150 with a factory tow package. I need to replace the trailer light plug. i was looking at the Hopkins part # HM 40975. My factory plug has a separate wire coming off the main plug for the 4 pole plug. I noticed the hopkins plug only has 1 connection. Will the 4 pole plug still work with only 1 socket. Thanks for your help,

Sounds like the factory trailer connector you have on your 2006 Ford F-150 has a round connector, like what is in the picture I attached, has a 4-way wiring harness and a 7-way connector on the other side of it.

I can assure you that the part # HM40975 that you referenced will plug into the round connector on your vehicle and will work just fine. Instead of using two connectors the # HM40975 combines them both into one connector. This has both a 4-way and a 7-way attached to it.

I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
