Troubleshooting Brake Assemblies that Click When Connected to Prodigy Brake Controller

Question:

I have a Prodigy brake controller in my RV to control the dual axle trailer I haul. I have had this set up for many years. I am parked in a campground where my trailer remains attached to the RV. I can hear a faint tick, tick, tick every 3-4 seconds coming from one wheel of the 4 as long as the power is to the trailer. Ideas? Controller? Brake?

That sound is most likely the brake controller testing the brake output circuit to determine if the controller is attached to a trailer or not. This is normal and after several minutes the controller will go into sleep mode and it will stop.
