There are two types of 7-pin trailer connectors, the 7-way blade style which is much more common or the 7-way round pin which isn't very common at all, so I'll assume you have the 7-way blade style. I'll link you to our Trailer Wiring FAQ which has photos showing what both of them look like.

There are two possible installation alternatives. If the trailer has brakes and you want them to function, you'll need to install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. You'd then use our Brake Controller Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. The kit includes an adapter that will convert your existing 4-pole to a 7 way. The adapter will plug into your 4 pole, with 4 extra wires that will need to be connected. The white wire grounds to the vehicle frame, the blue wire would be extended with the cable included in the kit and would be ran under the vehicle to the engine compartment and through the firewall, to pick up the output voltage from the brake controller, the black wire would use the other wire in the cable to run to the positive terminal of the battery via a 40 amp circuit breaker included in the kit. The purple wire is usually used for the reverse light circuit, but if your trailer doesn't have reverse lights, you can simply bundle that wire up out of the way.

If your trailer doesn't have brakes, or it does and you don't need them to function for whatever reason, you can purchase the adapter that's included in the kit I mentioned above as a separate item, part # 37185 and install it as mentioned above. You can leave the adapter in place, as it also has a 4-pole connector as well (unlike the # 30717 you referred to.)

If by some odd chance your trailer does have the 7-way round pin trailer connector, let me know and I'll recommend a solution for that. I'll link you to the instructions for the install kit, as well as to an install video for you.
