Troubleshooting Trailer Taillight that All Functions Arent Working

Question:

I have an enclosed motorcycle trailer that has a center, high mount led strip that functions as a running light, 3rd brake light and the outer leds function as turn signals also. This is in addition to the two lights along the out side of the rear of the trailer. The one that is on the trailer is not working for all of the lights. It has 4 wires coming from the rear of it and it is 17inch long and the holes are 16 ?inch apart. Is there a product that you have that would fit this bill for me? It looks very similar to this product other than being clear. Red or clear either one is fine for the replacement. The only numbers I can find on the housing itself are: SAE P2 DOT 94. Thank you in advance,

If the light you have on your trailer is working for some of the trailer light function it may not be the lights fault. It may be that the wiring of your trailer is causing the problem. This would be especially true if you can get both a high and low illumination from the light currently.

I would recommend you apply 12 volts to all of the wires of the light (except the ground), so that you can determine if the problem is the light or the wiring. If the light behaves correctly with this method the problem is the wiring of the trailer and it should be addressed by checking for shorts or corrosion on the wiring of that circuit.

The # STL79RB would be the closest light we offer to what you described though.
