Moving P3 Brake Controller From 2001 GMC Sierra With Harness Adapter To 2008 GMC Sierra
Question:
I have a 90195 P3 break controler for my 2001 Gmc Sierra and got a wire harness to plug in to the factory box. Will that harness work on my 2008 Gmc Sierra with factory 7 way? Thank you for your time

You can use the harness like part # 20127 for your P3 Brake Controller, part # 90195 on your 2008 GMC Sierra. You will have to modify it a bit since there is no harness connector under the dash of your Sierra to just simply plug in to.
You would need to cut the end of the harness off that plugged into the port on your 2001 Sierra, and hardwire it as the included help article explains. You can still use the harness to provide a quick disconnect for the controller. In the help article you would need to skip to the section titled 'Connecting the Brake Controller Adapter (20127) to the Factory-Installed Tow Package'. Once you have cut the vehicle side of the adapter off you will connect the wires in the following manner: vehicle Red to harness Black. vehicle Dark Blue to harness Blue, vehicle light Blue or Orange to harness Red, and vehicle White to harness White.
