How to Get a Desired Track Width Using a Timbren Axle Less System to Match Tow Vehicles Track Width
Question:
Hello, How do I determine correct track width for my off-road trailer using TIMBRENs? I will be using the 3500lb HD with 4inch lift. I believe the part number is ASR35HDS02 I am am building an off road tailer so should I build the frame a certain width for the Timbrens to be a certain track, or keep the frame at 48inch wide and add spacers for mounting the Timbrens? I need the following specs: Track width same as my Toyota FJ Cruiser which is 63.2 inches. I suppose that measurement is from center to center of tire treads. Hub bolt pattern is 6 on 5.5, same as the FJ wheels. I want to have electric breaks.

The distance the hub face will be from the outside of the trailer frame it is installed on is 8 inches with the Timbren Axle Less System part # ASR35HDS02 . If the wheels you plan on using have the same offset as the wheels on your Toyota FJ Cruiser you will want to take the wheel off of one of the axles and then measure the hub face to hub face dimension.
With that dimension you will want to subtract 8 inches from it, and that is how wide of a trailer you will need to build. I wouldn't recommend you use spacers between the frame and the Timbren.
For a brake hub with a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern you would want the part # 8-201-9UC3-EZ.
