Troubleshooting Tekonsha Prodigy Trailer Brake Controller Showing OL and SH Codes
Question:
I connected a prodigy p2 to my 2007 volvo vnl630 semi truck converted to RV. When I apply the brake pedal or the controller toggle switch I get overload then short codes. I've replaced trailer brake magnets, old brake wires, ground wires, soldered connections and replaced pigtail between truck and trailer. Trailer is 2 axle four 121/4 x 35/8 brakes. Ive done quick tester and voltmeter tests on the new P2 to check if its ok. And wired the P2 to all appropriate spots on the truck. Given the truck is air brakes the only spot I could find for the stoplight wire was behind the 12v relay switch for the truck brake lights. Not sure where to go next, thanks for your reply!

I would first start by checking the connectors on the truck and the trailer. You will want to make sure that both are free of dirt and corrosion.
The next step would be to test the connector on your truck. With the trailer disconnected, you will want to make sure that the brake output pin has power when using the manual override on the Tekonsha Prodigy Trailer Brake Controller, # 90885. If this pin has no power or if the controller shows an overload while testing, there is a problem with the brake output wire between the controller and the connector.
If you are still unable to locate the issue, please feel free to send me an email for additional troubleshooting procedures.
