How to Measure a Trailer Leaf Spring to Pick Out Correct Replacement

I have a boat trailer with double eye springs 4 leaf do I measure from outside end to end or center of eye to center of other eye?

If you are trying to measure your current leaf springs so that you can pick out the correct replacement ones you will want to measure from the center of the eye to the center of the other eye.

Typically springs will flatten out over time (around 1/2 inch), so you will want to pick a spring that is slightly shorter than what your current spring is. The amount of leaves isn't as important as picking out one the correct length and capacity.
