How To Measure For Ground Clearance On 2006 Ford F-150 For Front Hitch

Can you tell me if there is any difference in ground height of front hitches curt or drawtite for 2006 ford f150 thanks

The Curt front hitch, part # 31352 may require trimming the plastic fascia that is attached to the bottom of a chrome bumper. If your bumper does not have that added fascia, trimming is not required. Per the attached installation video the distance form the top of the receiver to the ground is 20-1/4 inches.

The Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 65043 does not require trimming the front fascia when in stalling. It does sit just a bit lower to the ground than the Curt hitch, but it does feature a second set of holes you can mount the hitch with that gives you more ground clearance. If you park your truck on level ground then measure from the ground to the bottom of the bumper and subtract 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 inches. That would give you an approximate distance from the ground to the bottom of the hitch.

My recommendation is for the Draw-Tite hitch, part # 65043 because it will not require trimming the fascia.
