Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2001 Jeep Wrangler

what is the inside opening of the 13432 hitch between the two plates, basically between the two plates?

The width between the 2 mounting plates on Curt trailer hitch # 13432 is 3-1/8 inches. This is a custom fit hitch designed to fit 2007 to 2015 Jeep Wranglers and Wrangler Unlimiteds. I have linked instructions and a video showing installation for you.
If you have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler, the hitch will not fit. The most popular Class III hitch for a 2001 Wrangler is # 13408. I have linked instructions and a video for this hitch as well.
If you plan on doing some towing, you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts: one with a 3/4-inch rise or 2-inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4-inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2-inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
