Tips for Removing Cap of Thule Parkway Bike Rack to Replace Cradles
Question:
I recently bought an additional cradle from you guys and Im having the hardest time removing the cap at the end of the bar, so I can slide in the additional cradle. it is just one screw that holds the cap on, and I cant seem to get it off. I was wondering if you had encountered this problem before or if there was a trick to taking that cap off. I have Thule Parkway 2 Bike Rack not sure what year it is but I bought it at least 3 years ago, attached are some pictures

To get the cap off of the Thule Parkway Bike Rack part # TH956 you will need to remove the one screw you have found. Small screws that are torqued down can be a pain, but there are some tips I can share that should help.
First thing you want to do is spray the screw with some penetrating lube like WD40. Next thing you want do is find the screwdriver with the thickest handle you can find that the head of it still fits the screw in the cap. The basic idea is that the thicker the handle the more leverage you will have.
I had a similar problem as this just the other day taking the front fender off my motorcycle. Following the above mentioned ideas I was able to get the problem screw out.
Just be careful not to strip the head of the screw.
