Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 1991 Toyota Camry
Question:
I just hooked up a small trailer to my 1991 Toyota Camry. The Camry has an old system for connecting the trailer wires into the brake lights, but there is no place for a ground wire from the 4-plug car side to connect into the old system which is hardwired into the Camry wiring. How should I connect up the ground wire on the car side? Thanks!

Your best option would be to replace the old style of trailer connector you have on your 1991 Toyota Camry with a new wiring kit like part # C56175 that will give you a 4-way on your vehicle to match the 4-way on your trailer. Without knowing more about what kind of wiring you have on the Camry it would be very hard to figure out what you would need to do to make the kit work.
I attached a review video for this wiring harness plus an FAQ on trailer wiring for you to check out as well.
