Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendations for 2012 Infiniti FX35
Question:
Which model bike rack do you recommend for my FX35 with rear spoiler? Ive read some contradicting comments on a few models that I thought would work. I need a rear mount for 2 bikes, and would prefer a lock if possible. I was considering the TH45JV, TH910XT, and the HRF2. I would like to know which of these are certain to not cause an issue with the roof-line spoiler. Thanks

Thule has tested the OutWay # TH45JV, and the Passage # TH910XT bike racks you mentioned on a 2012 Infiniti FX35 and has found that the bike racks are compatible with the spoiler.
Of all the racks, I'd recommend the OutWay because of how ridiculously simple it is to install and remove from the vehicle. The rack features only 2 ratcheting cables that adjust with the turn of a knob to fit your vehicle perfectly. When compared to the usual mounting method which involves 6 straps and a series of buckles that can take all kinds of time to adjust, the Raceway install is almost effortless. When the rack is installed, be sure you DO NOT use your rear wiper. You'll also want to remove the rack before opening or closing the rear hatch. The rear gas struts on your hatch are only rated for the weight of the hatch. Adding the extra weight of the rack could cause the hatch to close unexpectedly, which could be very bad.
Hollywood Racks tells me that none of their trunk mount bike racks are a fit for the Infiniti FX35.
If you'll be transporting women's bikes or bikes with sharply-angled top tubes, you might also consider a frame adapter bar like part # 64005. The bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, which provides a secondary attachment point for the bike rack. This allows the bike to be carried level, which maximizes ground clearance.
