Electric Trailer Brake Controller Recommendation for 2013 Dodge Ram Pickup
Question:
What controller can I use on a 2013 Dodge Ram?

Expert Reply:
Trailer brake controllers are not vehicle-specific so you can choose from among several brands and models of proportional or time-delayed type units. I always recommend the proportional type since these will allow for reduced wear on both the trailer and truck brakes and since they deliver superior performance. The linked article will give you more detail.
The controller I recommend is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885, because this unit is highly rated by our customers and is a proven performer. The P2 is easy to set up and includes features like built-in diagnostics, auto-leveling and the flexibility to be used with either electric or electric-over-hydraulic trailer brakes - unlike the Voyager # 39510 that you referenced which works only with electric brakes. The linked video will show you an installation in a Ram pickup.
You will connect this unit to the under-dash port on the truck using wiring adapter # 3023-P, which I've linked our install on a 2013 Dodge Ram of this adapter for you to check out.
