Question:
Interested in buying one for my 2014 Equinox. How would the wiring pass thru my lift gate?

To get the wire from the license plate bracket through the lift gate of your 2014 Chevy Equinox you can look for a hole possibly on the underside of the lift gate handle area, or most likely you will have to drill a hole to route the wire.
If you can I would recommend you drill through a plastic area possibly around a light fixture or the handle instead of through the painted portion. Drilling through a painted portion wouldn't be that big of a deal, but anytime you can minimize modifying a body panel I would recommend going that route.
I attached an install video for you to check out that shows how we installed this camera on a similar vehicle as yours.
