Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in a 2002 Ford Explorer with 4-Way Connector

Question:

I am looking to upgrade my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT to a 7 pin system for a sure trak trailer. The original 4 pin that came with my vehicle never worked. I connected a Curt T that connects directly to the rear tail lights. Now with my new 7k 2 Axle trailer , I want to set up for the electric brakes. What would I need to accomplish this?

We have exactly what you need to convert the 4-way on your 2002 Ford Explorer to a 7-way and install a brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. This comes with everything needed. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
