Can One ST215/75-14 Tire be Used with Five ST205/75-14 Tires on a Boat Trailer

Question:

I bought a used triple axle boat trailer with 205/75 14 on 5 of the six tires. The sixth tire was a 215/75 14. As the tire is the same size except a centimeter wider, do I need to replace it with a tire similar to the others? Ive already towed it 750 miles without a problem before I noticing the size difference.

You do want all of the trailer tires to be the same size and construction type (bias ply or radial). Using different sizes can cause tracking problems and lead to premature and/or uneven tire wear. Ideally you would replace all of the tires at the same time. I have included a link though to the 205/75-14 tires that we carry.

I should mention that in addition to the difference in width, the 215 is also almost 1/2 inch taller than the 205. I have included a couple of links on tires for you as well.
