Recommended Roof Basket For 2015 Volkswagen Golf With Roof Rack
Question:
Hi, we are planning a cross country trip and would like to know if this basket fits our 2015 VW Golf. We have installed VW base carrier bars with T - slots for a 2- door golf which are set 26 inches apart with a width of 42 inch across.

We do have several roof baskets available that will fit the crossbars on your 2015 Volkswagen Golf. Unfortunately, the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, part # C18115 will not work with the crossbar spread you said you have on your Golf. Because of the attachment points, this basket requires crossbar spreads of either 15, 22, or 29 inches. We do have other options for you.
I recommend a basket like the Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket, part # RMCB. The inside dimensions for this basket measure 41 inches long x 30-1/2 inches wide x 7-13/16 inches deep. This carrier weighs 31 lbs and will work with crossbars that have a 21 to 30 inch spread. A custom fairing is included with this basket that helps reduce wind drag and noise.
The cargo net I recommend for this roof basket is part # RLN1-RTD4. This measures 47-1/5 x 31-1/2 inches.
