Are the Yakima Plusnuts aluminum? Does it matter for the track install what type of metal the nuts are made out of?

The Yakima PlusNuts replacement part # Y8880039 is the optional hardware kit for Yakima roof rack tracks # Y01126 (42 inch) and # Y01127(54 inch) and are made out of steel.
The roof-rack tracks are an anodized aluminum so you wouldn't have any issues using other types of metals.
