Interchangeable Hitch Ball Recommendation For 2001 Keystone Camplite Pop-Up Camper
Question:
I have 2001 camplite by keystone pop-up camper and cannot seem to locate the ball size for the coupler. I have looked but do not see any stickers and I do not see it on the metal anywhere. Does it require a 1 7/8inch ball or a 2inch ball? It is the smallest pop-up they made that year I believe it is an 8 foot. Thanks for the help.

You will want to make sure you have the correct hitch ball mounted for your 2001 Keystone Camper. even though a 1-7/8 inch ball will fit, it can become a major safety issue if the coupler is designed for a larger hitch ball. One big bump and the coupler could jump off the smaller ball.
If you are unable to determine the ball size you have a couple of options. You will want to measure the hole on the ball mount that the hitch ball shank uses. I imagine it is 3/4 inch, but some ball mounts have a 1 inch ball shank hole.
If you measure the hole and it is 3/4 inches, I recommend the Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set, part # 802B. This has both a 1-7/8 and a 2 inch interchangeable ball included with a 3/4 inch shank. You can change the ball when needed for towing.
If the ball shank hole in the ball mount is 1 inch then I recommend the Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set, part # 900b. This includes 3 hitch balls, 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, and 2-5/16 inch.
I have attached a link to a helpful article about hitch balls you may want to take a look at.
