Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for an Older Travel Trailer

Question:

Im looking at item #13432 to bolt directly to the rear bumper of a 46 yr old travel trailer to hold a small bike rack and one bike. Is it possible to find out what the dimensions are for the width between the two upright sides w/holes and the height of each side w/holes? The rear bumper is 1 3/4inch by 1 3/4. Im hoping I can just bring this hitch up underneath the bumper, drill some holes in the bumper itself and bolt it on. thanks for the help

The distance between the two mounting brackets of the Curt Hitch part # 9883544 is 3-1/8 inches. It looks like it would be to big for what you are trying to do.

Since none of our hitches that install on bumpers are going to fit your bumper well I believe your best choice would be a multi-fit hitch like the part # 13703. This hitch will fit trailer frames that are between 22 and 72 inches in width so it should fit yours.

You are going to need a bike rack that is confirmed to work at the back of RVs and trailers. Most bike racks aren't designed to handle the harsher ride quality that is present at the rear of an RV/trailer so for a rack that will handle that you would want the # S94FR.
