Air Helper Springs for a 2007 Dodge Ram Mega Cab 4X4

Question:

I have a 2007 Ram Mega Cab 4WD. Have never had the shocks changed or springs adjusted. I am on the highway constantly pulling horse and cattle trailers. Is there a need to change or get new shocks or struts before installing an air ride kit and would you suggest bags for the front axles?

Helper springs, whether they are air bags or jounce style springs, are meant to be installed on a vehicle with suspension that is in good working order. If the stock suspension is still in good shape on your 2007 Dodge Ram then you would not have to change anything before installing helper springs.

For the rear, Firestone kit # F2299 is a good choice; it fits 1500 Mega Cab models and 2500/3500 series models.

Adding helper springs to the front will also help with stability and overall ride quality while towing. You can use jounce style springs, # TDF25004B, for 1500 Mega Cab or 2500/3500 series.

I have included a few helpful links to the right for you.
