Using Roadmaster # RM-048-6 High Low Adapter With a Winch
Question:
I was wondering if I could use this product in conjunction with a winch. I have a from 2inch receiver on my truck and feel that this would allow me to bring my winch up and give me more ground clearance!

According to the folks at Roadmaster, the High-Low adapter you referenced, part # RM-048-6 could be used for the purpose you describe as long as its 10,000 straight pull and 400 lb tongue weight (max downward force that can safely be applied) capacities aren't exceeded. However, when winching, you're rarely going to have the load applied in a straight line to the receiver. For this reason, I don't recommend using a high-low adapter with a winch.
If you could reply with the year, make and model of your truck, I'd be happy to look into some alternate ways of mounting your winch that could provide greater ground clearance.
