Recommended Clearance Between Bed Side Rails and Underside of Fifth Wheel Trailer Loft
Question:
What's the minimum recommended clearance between the top of the picup bed side and the bottom of the front of a 5th wheel? I have 6 inches now between the bottom of the 5th wheel and the bed side of my 14 Silverado 2500.

Six inches is the minimum recommended clearance between the top of the bed sides and the underside of the trailer loft. If you're any closer than that, you stand the danger of the underside of the loft hitting the bed side during downhill turns. If you can adjust the head of your fifth wheel hitch up by one or two sets of bolt holes, you'll maximize your clearance.
