How to Wire Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944017 on 2-Horse Trailer
Question:
My wife has a two horse trailer. I would like to install the jack on her trailer. Can it be wired into the plug 7 round and use vehicle power to raise and lower, or is the draw too much. We have used vehicle power for the camper when the battery drained at the dealer, but dont want to do any damage.

The Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944017 that you referenced is best installed on your A-frame horse trailer with a separate 12V power source, a secondary battery on the trailer. The tow vehicle 7-way's 12V feed is designed to provide a "trickle charge" to maintain a charged trailer battery while you're driving but not to charge a depleted battery or to operate a device like a powered tongue jack. That 12V feed is fine for operating trailer lights but not for a current-hungry motor. A separate battery on the trailer is the way to go.
Be sure to make a solid ground connection to a clean bare metal surface on the trailer.
