I believe what you're speaking of is known as a barrel nut, as shown in the photo I've provided.

If this is indeed the part you're needing, Yakima doesn't offer them as a separate replacement part, but you can get the replacement locking knob assembly part # Y8820181, which includes everything shown in the photo. If this isn't what you needed, you can reply to this email with an attached photo of what you're needing.
