In order to find the distance from the edge of the Surco Cargo Carrier, part # C18151 to the vehicle, you will need to take a quick measurement.
You can use a tape measure and a straight edge like a yardstick or a dowel. Hold the straight edge vertically against the back of the vehicle(either the rear bumper or a rear mounted spare tire), and let it extend down below the hitch. Then measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the straight edge. That is the measurement you need to consider when choosing any hitch mounted accessory. I have attached a link to a helpful article you can take a look at.
This carrier, part # C18151 measures 20 X 59 inches and folds up when not in use. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier when it is folded up is 9 inches and when it is folded down that measurement is 19 inches. I have attached a product review video for this carrier you can check out. So if the measurement you take on your vehicle is less than 9 inches you should have no problem clearing the back of your vehicle.
I also recommend a locking hitch pin like part # e98880. This chrome-plated lock features a 5/8 inch diameter pin and a covered key slot that helps prevent corrosion. Using a locking hitch pin will help deter theft of the carrier when it is installed on the vehicle. I have attached a link to a product review video for this hitch pin lock.
