PS49902 vs PS49903 Weight Distribution System for a Speculated Tongue Weight of 750 lbs
Question:
Vehicle: 2003 Ford Ranger Edge 4 x 4 v6 with 5500 lb max tow rating Trailer: Evolution 15 GVW of trailer: 4,420 lbs Tongue weight: 500 lbs In determining the correct WDH I see you need to add the tongue weight of trailer with all stuff that will be in it and whatever weight that is in the truck behind the rear wheels The published tongue weight of trailer is 500 lbs. If I add full propane tanks, 2nd battery AND the weight of the WDH itself 100 lbs??....my sense the tongue weight is now at least 600-650+ lbs. Now add whatever is in the back of the truck but 100+ lbs would be a minimum guess and likely more That combined weight is including weight of WDH is at if not slightly more than 750 lbs the PS49902 is rated for The PS49903 has a 1000 lb tounge weight rating Given the 49902 will be at or above its rated 750 lb tongue weight should I get the 49003 or will that result in to stiff of a ride? If I just use the weights of the trailer, its published tongue weight and keep whatever is in the truck behind the wheels down under 100 lbs than I see the 49902 but reality says more if I add weight of items in front storage area of trailer, propane weight, battery weight, WDH weight...it just seems to all add up to at or above the 750 lbs of the 49902 and given the note saying if the weight is not calculated right and is more than the hitch supports for WD than it is useless in preventing truck and trailer sagging down which it certainly does now with a standard hitch and bounces at FWY speeds

It is hard to pick out a weight distribution system based off of speculated information. You really need to just set your trailer up like you are going to tow it, put whatever you need in the bed of the truck as well and determine your tongue weight at that point.
You are on the right track though as it sounds like you are considering everything that needs to be considered.
However, if you think your tongue weight will be right at 750 lbs or more the # PS49583 which has a tongue weight range of 750 to 1,000 lbs would be better than the 49902 ( # PS49582 with # 83660 ) which would be underrated and wouldn't be effective.
I attached an FAQ on WD systems and determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.
