Will this adapter fit my 2006 Duramax?

The correct Sandwich Adapter for your 2006 Chevy Duramax is the Derale Thermostatic Sandwich Adapter - 13/16-16 Engine Filter Threads, item # D25720. There is not a Low profile adapter available at this time for the 3-1/2 inch O-ring filter size.
You will need to measure the area you have below your existing filter for installation and removal of the oil filter after installing the adapter. The # D25720 adapter is 2-1/4 inches thick so you will need at least 2-1/4 inches plus the thread depth, approximately another inch, to install this adapter for connecting an oil cooler.
