Roof Rack and Cargo Box Recommendation for a 2011 Honda Odyssey

Question:

hi, I have 2011 honda odyssey with flat roof. I am getting the roof rails installed by the dealer tomorrow. I want to get the cross bars and cargo box. I am not clear about the cross bar spread. why is this important? why some cross bars have 32inch spread while others have 50? Rails are going to be the same length, then why the difference in cross bar spread? Is it cargo box sizes that requires a certain cross bar spread? Please suggest a good cross bar and a cargo box. I really dont know what i am going to carry at this time..may be camping stuff like tents/sleeping bags etc. May be Skiing equipment. thanks

Crossbar spread is an important factor when picking out roof rack accessories because certain things like cargo boxes can only fit a certain range of spreads.

Since you are having the rails installed on your 2011 Honda Odyssey and the aftermarket roof racks that will fit this roof style can be set anywhere on the rail your crossbar spread will be where ever you want it to be. For example, if you went with the # MPG216 you would be able to slide the bars anywhere you would like on the rails. Check out the review video I attached for more info.

For a great cargo box confirmed to fit this rack and your vehicle check out the Thule Pulse Medium Rooftop Cargo Box # TH614 . I even attached a demo video that shows this box being used on a similar Odyssey as yours.
