Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four-way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2007 to 2010 Kia Optima vehicles. And on a custom fit part like this I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle. That'll ensure if this will work for your application.

Now this harness here provides a four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with five poles, six pole, and seven pole adapters, that we do sell separate on the website. And to install this, it's very quick and easy. It does come with a nice set of instructions. There's no cutting or splicing of any wires.

Basically you'll just locate your connection points, which will be in the rear cargo area, and then you'll plug in these connectors, one on each side. The one with the yellow wire would be for the driver side. You'll go in the rear cargo area and plug this in. And then the green wire, you'll plug this in on the passenger side. Now that does have a white wire with an eyelid on it.

You do need to collect it, or connect this to a good clean ground if there's one nearby. If there isn't, they include a grounding screw that you can make your own ground. Now they do use protective connection terminals to resist corrosion when you plug these in. And this does come with everything shown here on the table. Comes with this nice dust cover that'll fit onto your four-way, and just snap it on there.

And you can leave it on there if you like, and then when you're not plugged in, you can actually just put that over the terminals and it protects them from the elements and from any damage. Also comes with a couple cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring. Comes with some terminal grease that you'll put on all your grease connections before you connect them.
