  You are correct that the AM/FM signal input is at the rear of the Drive RV Stereo DVD1000. To gain access to the rear on your stereo that's already mounted you will need to first remove the bottom panel from the front face. I have highlighted this panel in red on the image you sent in of your stereo. This black plastic panel can simply be pulled/pried away from the main unit.
