  • "L" Error Code on Controller for SaltDogg Salt Spreader
I spoke to Buyers about the issue you're having with your SaltDogg Salt Spreader and they informed me that you will want to apply power directly to both the spinner and auger to ensure they are working correctly. The systems all feed back into the controller so if there is an issue with either of these it will show as an error on the controller. The other thing you'll want to do is test the output wires from the controller, you'll want to ensure both the input and output wires have enough...

This will cause the controller to shut off automatically. You'll want to check the power lead which is the wire going to the positive side of the battery and make sure it's properly connected and getting 12 volts both before and after the in line circuit breaker. A poor or weak ground can also...

  • My SaltDogg Controller Shows the Letter P Code NOT Flashing what Does this Mean
The "P" code on your Replacement Variable Speed Controller for SaltDogg Salt Spreader part # BP54FR is the code for the spinner motor being disconnected. They recommend inspecting the wire harness/motor for damage and then reconnecting and retesting. This can very likely be a corrosion issue as well check the plugs carefully and clean what is necessary. Basically the Controller is not recognizing that the motor is present and needs to see it before it will operate.
