Shane: Hi. I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be going over Bestop's door jacket for full metal doors. These are designed to protect your doors when you take them off in the summer time. These bags are going to fit a wide variety of Jeep Wranglers. I encourage you, check etrailer.com kit guide for your specific year, make and model.
They're going to come in a quantity of two. If you have a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, which is a four door version, use the same part number, pick up a second set for the back doors. There's going to be many different options available for storing your doors. For instance, there's rolling carts. Problem with those is how much space they take up, they're kind of big. The amount of space it takes up, you may not be able to fit the cart and your vehicle in the garage at the same time.
Another option that I see a lot of people do is they'll hang a hook from their ceiling and hang the door from the hook. Problem with that is if you have a rain guard that hook is going to break that, so that option's kind of out too. These bags, they install very easily, you can install them while the door is still attached to the vehicle and, in the winter time when you put your doors back on, these can store in a very nice, tight space. You roll them up together and stick them up in a cabinet in the corner of the garage and they really don't take up a whole lot of space. It's going to have a very durable construction, it's going to be like a seatbelt material, like a really durable nylon. We're going to have reinforced zippers, so our zippers are going to be very sturdy.
The stitching on them is very good. The inside of our cover, it's going to have a rubber inside, so we're not going to have to worry about our paint getting scratched or anything from the bag when we take them off or while they're inside the bag. Now outside here, we're going to have a couple of different handles. We're going to have one here in the front, very thick material also, and then on the inside we're going to have two more, so it's going to give us an option to maybe have a second person help us take the door off and store it away in a corner somewhere.A couple of things I really like about this bag. One, material that it's made out of.
Very thick material, I know it's going to protect my door. Two, I can put the bag on while the door is still attached to the vehicle. The doors are heavy, they're steel doors. If you have it on the floor while trying to put it in the bag, or trying to put the bag on the door while it's on the floor, it's going to be a pain in the butt. You take a chance of chipping your paint on the floor. Another reasons, it's going to have a zipper on the top and a zipper on the bottom so you can get that bag secured on there before you take it off the hinges. Now if you've never taken your door off, most inaudible 00:02:43 Jeeps are going to have a wire coming from your door and this is for your dome light. And it's tucked up, right up underneath your dash on each side. This tab right here, it's a locking tab. It's actually not going to push over now because I don't have the other end in, but when you reach up there, you're going to take this tab and you're going to push it over where it sits like this. And you're going to push here and you're just going to pull this wire off. It's going to be attached to a strap. The strap actually loops on this hook right here and this is to keep your door from swinging open and hitting your car. The only other thing you need to do is you're going to take a T45 torx bit and you're going to have a nut here on the bottom of this hinge and a nut here on the bottom of this hinge. Take those two nuts off, then we're just going to take our door, rotate it back and forth. As we're putting upward pressure on it, it's going to pull the two pins out of our hinges. Once you get your door off, you're going to secure your bag over the top. Now you can rest assure your door's not going to be damaged when we store it in the corner. Now with our bag installed, as I mentioned before, with the rain guard you can't hang your door from the hooks. Now with the bag installed, you can. They're protected, so not only can you hang them from the hooks, but you can hang them closer together, we not going to have to worry about them getting damaged. That's going to do it for a look at Bestop door jackets for Jeep full steel doors.
