TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Front

  • Adjusts for simple, secure connection to camper
    • Extend arms out from truck body to clear bowed sidewalls and fenders

  • Includes 2 front tie-downs and installation hardware
  • Made in the USA
  • Lifetime warranty

A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

I was completely impressed with the fitment and overall quality of these Tie-Downs. I ordered them on-line they came quickly and I had them on the truck within a couple of hours with no problems at all, amazing! These things are very sturdy and well-built.

3500 Mega Cab (short bed) 6.7 Turbo Ram & 2018 855s Lance. Needed to build a frame so side to side movement was minimized. The camper will sill walk back an inch or two but have a solution for that also. Torklift equipment is top notch and built to last. Works great!

Tough install drivers side but got it d one

by: Jeff F.05/15/2019

Installation took roughly 1.5hrs, with drivers' side being more of a challenge. Couldn't have taken the 2 factory bed bolts out without an pneumatic impact wrench (and 18mm socket) and a needle nosed vice-grip was key in holding the front welded nut bar while treading the bolt into it. Also, note the driver' and passenger's are slightly different in angles (the instructions could be better to identify which is which, or at least each one marked as such). Looks good and solid! Very happy with the product design and the overall instructions. The corresponding D3109 (rear tie-downs) were very simple installation (~1hr), however the pneumatic impact was definitely needed to take out the 6 factory bolts.

by: Nick 02/22/2024

They still work great after a year : )

by: Stephen 04/27/2023

I added a Super Hitch to my truck so I had to replace the rear tie downs. Two bolts on each unit and easy to reach. Very well made and heavier than the torklift that were attached to the Ram hitch.

by: Robert12/18/2023

They work great

by: Craig03/25/2022

Forklift tie downs are manufactured to exact fit to existing manufactured frame rail holes. They lined up perfectly and after 6000 miles with camper on board have stayed secure. The only downside, (this is relative to when and ware you use you camper) they will corrode when driving through snow covered roads that have been treated with sand and/or salt. I use an oil based product to protect them corroding.

by: Jello09/04/2022

The TorkLift frame mounted tiedowns for my truck bed camper mounted perfectly on my 2016 RAM 3500. They are holding my camper on very securely and will be tucked away nicely when I remove the camper for Winter. I plan on making a footstep to slide into the receivers then, so I have much easier access to my high truck bed when I use it to haul firewood. The only suggestion I have is that we cleaned up the punched out pin hole edges with a file, inside the receivers. The sharp ridges would have scratched the hold down assemblies a bit when inserted into the receivers. Maybe an opportunity for a manufacturing process improvement there?

Easy to install works great

by: Bob03/04/2020

The tie downs were easy to install. I do recommend the use of an impact wrench as that made the installation process straight forward and something a novice can complete in a little over an hour for front and back tie down brackets.

This is the second set of Torklift camper tiedowns I have purchased from eTrailer. As always, the product is outstanding and no other camper tiedown system compares. The service and delivery time was great. eTrailer staff are very good to work with, know their products well, and are quick to respond to questions. If you are looking for camper tiedowns, spend the extra money and get Torklift brand.

by: Terry05/14/2020

Parts were good quality and fit well. Instructions weren't very good, pictures were really poor quality, instructions showed bolts to remove that didn't need to be removed, not always easy to follow.

2018 Ram3500

Great tie downs! They were easy to install, and I love that it is not obvious that the truck has truck camper tie downs when the truck camper is not loaded.

by: Bruce08/07/2019

I received outstanding service from Lori at etrailer.com. When I called with questions concerning which truck camper tie down to order, Lori steered me to the correct location on the etrailer webpage and then personally took my order for me over the phone. The speed and efficiency of the etrailer shipping is as good as it gets. I had my truck camper tie down kits within two days of placing the order and I live in Wyoming. I highly recommend this company to anyone wishing to purchase camper accessories online.
