When you use a hitch adapter like the Roadmaster High Low Adapter RM-048-0 you end up cutting the capacity of the hitch it's installed in by half due to added leverage and movement. It would seem like a simple fix to just use a sleeve adapter with the Yakima # Y02445 to convert it to a 2 inch hitch but Yakima says that using adapters like this will void the warranty of the rack so we do not endorse that.
