Only shot at finding out what was there is if there are bracket still under the bed that would have part numbers or brands listed. I would be willing to bet it was a universal rail kit like the part # RP30035 which uses L-brackets that attach to the truck frame though. view full answer...
The problem you most likely are experiencing is due to fact that semi trucks have the turn signals and stoplight circuit on separate circuits/wires. Standard trailer wiring has the stoplight and turn signal circuits on the same wire.
So in your situation you would need to wire in the Hopkins Tail Light Converter part # HM48847 on just the stoplight and turn signal circuits and you'll be good.
A brake controller would not affect the stoplight circuit at all. view full answer...
