From what I have seen, there are 2 different configurations for landing gear jacks like # BD182815. First is like the jack you have referenced that has the foot release is perpendicular to the rod through the top center of the jack. The other configuration is like # BD182411, with the release parallel with the top rod.

In the picture attached is the factory drawing of the mats with the location of the grommet noted.
