I pulled up the owners manual online to try and verify the kick open needing to be disabled and was not able to locate that specifically. But I was able to find that the kick sensor is located behind the lower, center part of the rear bumper.
This would make sense for the kick sensor to be disabled because that is exactly where the receiver of the Curt Rack Receiver # C92NR will sit. Which will block your kick sensor and cause it to not function. My guess would be that Toyota wants the... view full answer...
