Expert Answers about Ford F-450 Super Duty

  • 1999 E450 Econoline Motor Home Chassis Brake Controller Installation
  • I unfortunately have no knowledge of wire colors used by Winnebago. We typically recommend that folks wire by function, rather than wire color because wire colors are not always consistent. If I understand you correctly, all the OEM wiring basically terminates under the driver's seat, at which point Winnebago used purple wiring to complete the circuits, is that correct? If so, I would recommend installing the controller, and have a helper pulse the manual braking switch on your brake controller....

  • Option For Connecting a Lance Camper Electrical Plug To A 2020 Ford F 450
  • We do have a potential solution for you, but Lance campers use a proprietary plug, and there is not any adapter for your Lance camper that we are aware of. If your camper does use the proprietary lance plug, we recommend replacing it with a 7 way plug like the Hopkins 7-Way Blade Style Connector with Molded Cable # HM20041. This way you can simply plug in to the 7 way plug on your F450. We also recommend running your connections thru a junction box # 3375601101

  • How is Ventline Rocker Switch Replacement Accessed for Removal
  • When removing a switch like the part # BL0108-00 from a Ventline roof vent there is a tab on the top and bottom of the switch that needs to be pressed for the switch to be able to be pushed out. You'd have to access it from above if you can't find a way to reach and and grab it from the topside.

  • Spare Tire Carrier for Front Mount Hitch on 2008 Ford F-450 Super Duty With 100 lb Tire
  • The Curt Trailer Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier # c31006 does have a bit of an angle, you're right, but I can't recommend using any type of shim or adapter to change the angle. That said, the angle isn't extreme, as you can see by the photo I added showing this carrier at an angle. This really is the best option for your tire because the only other carrier that has the weight capacity and is straight up and down is the Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195125 which is designed to be...

  • Difficulty Installing the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter Part # RP30156
  • The first thing you will want to do is ensure you have greased the bottom of the foot assembly on the adapter. Per the instructions, if you are still having difficulty while placing the feet into the factory foot packs, you will need to loosen the 1" jam nuts on the adapter inside of the rail. Once all the jam nuts are loose, you can then try to mount the feet into the factory pucks. While in place, tighten jam nuts as described in the “system assembly” section of the instruction.

  • Should Ride-Rite and TorkLift StableLoad be Installed on 2019 Ford F-450 for 5th Wheel Towing
  • Since your 2019 Ford F-450 Super Duty is a dually and you are planning to tow 2020 New Horizons Majestic 5th wheel trailer (which has a much more stable connection than a travel trailer) you won't need to be concerned with sway especially since you plan on installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F35FV. I do recommend installing an air compressor kit as well so that you can easily adjust the air bags as needed while you are out traveling and you don't have to hunt down a...

  • Why Doesn't the Gen-Y Torsion Ball Mount Have Set Screws To Secure Ball and Pintle Latch?
  • The Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2-1/2" Hitch - 6" Drop/Rise - 32K # GY79FR is not an older model. It is a newer model that has the rounded portion that is like a ramp on the ball mount to help with the lunette ring where the older models didn't have that. There are some models that have the additional threaded holes you referenced but not all of them have that option. You may be interested in the Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2-1/2" Hitch -...

  • Can Different Capacity Batteries Be Charged Together
  • Batteries should always be charged individually. If you had two identical batteries but one is new and the other is a year old and has been through many charge/depletion cycles, the new one will pull in more of the charging power because it is in better shape. Batteries age and become less able to accept a charge effectively. Batteries connected together can result in one slowing the rate of charge on the other. Batteries with very different Amp-Hour ratings, like a 100-Ah and a 270-Ah...

  • How to Disable Grid Lines on GCH Automotive Custom Third Brake Light Camera
  • Yes. In order to disable the grid lines on the Custom Third Brake Light Camera for Aftermarket Monitor - Night Vision # 3460003 you'll need to cut the green wire coming from the camera (or not connect it during installation). If you follow the camera cable that is about 4ft long there will be 2 small wires (green and white) at the end of cable-this is the wire I'm referring to. If you completed the installation already then with that wire already connected then you'll want to unplug that...

  • Does Head Setting on Slide Bar Hand-Held Shower Set Completely Shut Off Water
  • The Patrick Distribution RV Slide Bar Hand-Held Shower Set # 277-000035 has a trickle setting that will help you reduce the water flow greatly while you're scrubba-dub-dubbing. It doesn't completely shut off the water because the pressure could cause issues with the connections but it is a great option to conserve water and is basically a standard among RV shower heads. None of our other shower head options has the ability to completely shut off the water so if this is the design that you...

  • The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65076 will fit on your 2020 Ford F-450 Super Duty. I have linked a video below that will show you the installation process on your F-450. In the video the installer refers to it as an intercooler but it is the same oil cooler that you are looking at. The installation process in the video is different than that which is explained in the instructions as the truck used in that demonstration did not have the oil cooler.

  • What is the Correct Direction for Arrow on TST Internal Tire Sensor?
  • I definitely get where you're coming from because I had to reach out to my contact at TST to get the lowdown on what orientation the Internal Tire Sensor # TST-507-INT-S1 needs to be. The long and short of it is that it ultimately doesn't matter but he generally tells people to have the arrow pointing towards the side of the wheel that has the valve stem.

  • Wires Inside The Camper For Solera 18V Power RV Awning - Rechargeable Battery
  • You do not need to drill holes and fish wire into the RV to use the Solera 18V Power RV Awning, # LC729486. There is a waterproof toggle switch located at base of awning arm. There is also a manual override that lets you operate the awning if needed, but the rechargeable battery is estimated to operate 22-25 times between...
