Due to the low tongue weight capacity of the Class I receiver, the hitch and bike rack manufacturers all agree that no more than 2 bikes should be carried on any hitch installed in a Class I receiver. The hitch itself, # C11256, has a towing capacity of 2000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity (maximum amount of downward force hitch can safely withstand) of 200 lbs. I looked up the towing capacity of the vehicle by consulting an online copy of the owners manual, and found on page 9-17, it states not to tow a trailer with the vehicle.
