The big difference between the two trailers is the EcoLight trailers like part # MAL43FR were made to be lighter weight for smaller vehicles and have lower weight capacities. We just recently confirmed with Curt that their 2-inch Class III hitch # C13315 will indeed fit the mid-year version of the 2016 Mazda CX-5. The noted fit exclusion was temporary, until Curt engineers could get their hands on the 2016.5 to test fit this hitch.
If you also need a 4-pole wiring harness you can use Curt kit # C56310. This is illustrated in the linked review video and the linked article will assist your installation.

There is indeed a plug and play trailer wiring harness option for your 2015 Mazda CX-5. I'd recommend the Tekonsha # 118563. The harness would plug inline with the vehicle's taillight wiring harness where it plugs into the back of the taillight assembly.

I spoke with my contact at Thule about your Thule EasyFold Bike Rack, part # TH9032. They told me that the models sold in the USA do not come with the 7-pin and 13-pin wiring connector.

Honestly the SportRack Semi-Custom fit roof racks don't always fit great since they aren't full custom fits. For some vehicles they fit decently and for others it's not the best.

I have a solution for you, but there is not a 47" long Rhino Rack bar available. However, the Rhino Rack Roof Rack Kit using parts # RRVA118B-2 (crossbars), # RRRLKVA (towers) and # DK289 (foot pack) uses 46" long bars, so it would be fairly close and is designed to fit on the naked roof of a 2015 Mazda CX-5. The next longest bar size is 49" long with part # RRVA126B-2, which could also be used on the above mentioned towers and foot pack.

That is a great question and thankfully easily answered. Mazda increased the level of standard equipment offered and labeled the upgraded vehicles as 2016.5 models. This was not a platform change, simply onboard equipment; the trailer hitches are the same for each. Our fit guide matches the vehicle manufacturers identification but if you look at the actual item listed it is the same for "prior to..." and "mid-year model".
