Expert Answers about Keystone RV Air Conditioners

  • How Loud is Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner
  • Hi Tammy, I checked with the manufacturer and the noise level directly at the AC is 67 dB, and 45 dB if you're inside your trailer for their low-profile units: - Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System # ASA58YR - Black: Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System # ASA88YR For reference, 60 dB is about the level of conversation, and 30 dB is a whisper. There truly is not an RV air conditioner that is going to give you whisper-level noise, and when you are indoors, this...

  • What Is The Smallest AC Unit For Adding AC System To A Cargo Trailer/Camper
  • Hello Tyson. The smallest AC unit we offer is the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner and this will be a great option for you. Since this is a smaller trailer you can definitely get away with a 13,500 BTU unit. These AC units require the roof to be between 2-1/2" and 5" thick, so please do keep that in mind during your build. For a complete AC system I recommend the following: - Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner - 13,500 Btu - White # ADV79FR - Air Distribution Box w/ Built-In...

  • Is The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV79FR Compatible With The # ACDB
  • Hey Jon, Yes, the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV79FR is compatible with the Air Distribution Box # ACDB. This would have the controls on the air distribution box instead of a wall mounted thermostat. We don't currently have any systems with a wireless remote. You'll want to doublecheck the BTU rating of your current unit and make sure you have a 13,500BTU rating. If you have a 15,000BTU rating or you just want to upgrade you can go with the # ADV29FR instead.

  • Recommended AC With Heat Strip for Enclosed Trailer
  • The 15,000 Btu Furrion air conditioner is what I would recommend and what I have on my trailer. Since it is an enclosed trailer I'm guessing you want the manual distribution box. You can choose from the following based on color: -Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - White # FR92PR -Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Black # FR32PR Each of these would use the Furrion Heat Strip Add-On for Furrion Air Conditioner # FR35SR.

  • Will Advent Air AC be Direct Replacement For Dometic Brisk AC
  • Hey there Ross; thanks for that info and your 15,000 Btu Dometic Brisk Air II AC can absolutely be replaced by an Advent unit. I do recommend going with the low-profile option as not only does it look better, but the less height you can add on top of your camper the better. You can get either White or Black in color: - White: Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup # ASA86YR - Black: Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup # ASA68YR These will...

  • What is the Amp Draw Of The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup # ASA68YR
  • The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup # ASA68YR has a compressor rated load of 12.4 amps while the fan motor is rated for a load of 2.6 amps or 15 amps total. Do understand the AC does have a start capacitor that will help boost amperage to start the motors and may cause a slightly higher draw than 15 amps which is why Advent recommends a 20 amp circuit to be used.

  • How Many Watts Does the 15,000 BTU Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner Draw?
  • Yes, it can! The 15,000 BTU Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup item # ASA68YR uses right around 3,000 watts for start up and 1,500 - 1,700 watts to run. Advent recommends a 20 amp circuit be used because of the extra draw during start up, even with the capacitor. So you have enough power to run your other electronics and appliances, I recommend the Champion 4,500-Watt Dual Fuel Portable Inverter Generator - Gas or Propane - Electric Start item # CH44FR.

  • Recommended Upgraded A/C Unit for a 30' Horse Trailer
  • Angelica, I recommend going with the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR55PV. This AC unit is a bit beefier than your Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ACM135C, with a 15K Btu per hour cooling capacity. This unit also comes with a single zone controller, a wall mounted thermostat with a digital display, and includes the mounting hardware for the distribution box.

  • Will the Advent AC Work In Adding Second AC to 2022 Forest River Wildwood Heritage W/ Pre-Wire
  • Andy, the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System # ASA59YR will technically work with your 2022 Forest River Wildwood, but it meant more for a trailer that does not have anything already pre-wired. It will still work, but it would require you to do a bit more work. But if you were to use an AC designed for a pre-wired trailer like # FR82PV, all you'd have to to do is plug it into the existing plug. If you're able to let me know what your trailer was pre-wired for, that would...

  • Replacement For Dometic Duo-Therm Quick Cool RV Air Conditioner
  • Hello Cherry. To replace your Dometic Duo-Therm Quick Cool AC Unit I recommend the Advent Air # ACM150. This is made to be directly compatible with your existing Dometic AC system. You'll just need to remove the cover to your air distribution box so that you can get to the mounting bolts and wiring. Aside from you can basically just swap out the rooftop portion and leave the rest of the AC system as-is. I do suggest that you pick up a Start Capacitor # ACMSCKIT. You also have the option...

  • Can I Replace My GE AC Unit With A Furrion AC
  • Hello Rich. It is possible to replace your GE air conditioner with a Furrion AC unit. In order to do this, you will need get a whole new AC unit system since there aren't any adapter kits that allow you to simply plug and play the installation. So, you will be getting a new AC unit, controller, distribution box and thermostat. I recommend the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR95PV, which will come with everything you need. This should be a nice upgrade from your GE unit. The...

  • Solution for Cooling a RV in the Desert
  • You can't recharge RV ac units and anyone who tells you you can or does isn't supposed to so lets move past that option. Another major issue is your Honda EU2200i generator is definitely going to be too small to power an AC unit that will do a better job of keeping up with the desert heat on legit hot days. You most likely need two AC units for 100 degree desert temps which would require a whole lot more power, like a solar panel set up item # 342-75011. Even then your 5th wheel has R3...

  • Hey Dennis, thanks for reaching out! • Is It Possible To Replace/Upgrade The Thermostat In A 2015 Cruise Lite 26'
  • Hello Wayne. It may be possible to replace the thermostat in your 2015 Cruise Lite. Replacement thermostats are generally brand specific to the AC unit, so I will need to know what brand/model of AC you currently have in your camper. For example, the Replacement Single Zone Thermostat # DMC79FR will work with the Dometic brand RV Air Conditioners. If this is not exactly what you have, feel free to drop that info in the comments below and I am happy to make a recommendation.

  • Replacement Air Conditioner Unit For A 2017 Forest River Salem Villa Estates 395RET
  • Hi Al, If you're just wanting to replace the rooftop unit and keep the interior components (air distribution box and thermostat) then you'll first want to see whether your current unit has a 6-pin or 9-pin connector. To find this you'll remove the cover for the air distribution box and look for the harness that hangs down from the rooftop unit and plugs into the controller. You'll also want to remove the shroud and look for the sticker that lists the BTU rating for the unit. I have the...

  • Recommended Air Conditioner System For a Enclosed Trailer Conversion to a Travel Trailer
  • While the 13.5K air conditioner might seem like overkill do remember your enclosed trailer is going to have virtually 0 insulation. So it is going to take a lot more cooling power to keep it cool on the hot days. The Advent Kit # ACM135CH would be the one I recommend as it comes with a start capacitor to help with the power draw and a heat strip to help on those chilly nights.

  • Replacing Dometic AC Unit - Does It Make Sense To Replace Both The Inside And Outside Unit?
  • Hello Frank, we do offer AC units that will replace your current Dometic unit. In most cases it makes sense to replace only the rooftop portion and leave everything inside the camper as-is. That said, I am not sure how old your current unit is, but a new upgraded distribution box might be a good idea. They are not terribly expensive, and it will be easy to add on since you will be disconnecting and removing the rooftop portion anyways. Your best option will be an Advent AC unit. Since...

  • Looking For Front Air Bags For A 2007 Holiday Rambler Endeavor
  • Hello Mike. We do offer several replacement air bags such as the Replacement Heavy Duty Firestone Air Bag for RV Applications # F9294 that you were looking at. Unfortunately, there is no way for me to recommend an air bag based on just the VIN as RV manufacturers do not include this info in their online specs. I can certainly point you in the right direction but I will need more information from you. The best way to get the info you need will be to provide the brand and part number of...
