Since this is a smaller trailer you can definitely get away with a 13,500 BTU unit. Andy, the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System # ASA59YR will technically work with your 2022 Forest River Wildwood, but it meant more for a trailer that does not have anything already pre-wired. It will still work, but it would require you to do a bit more work. But if you were to use an AC designed for a pre-wired trailer like # FR82PV, all you'd have to to do is plug it into the existing plug.

In order to do this, you will need get a whole new AC unit system since there aren't any adapter kits that allow you to simply plug and play the installation. Another major issue is your Honda EU2200i generator is definitely going to be too small to power an AC unit that will do a better job of keeping up with the desert heat on legit hot days. Replacement thermostats are generally brand specific to the AC unit, so I will need to know what brand/model of AC you currently have in your camper. If you're just wanting to replace the rooftop unit and keep the interior components (air distribution box and thermostat) then you'll first want to see whether your current unit has a 6-pin or 9-pin connector. To find this you'll remove the cover for the air distribution box and look for the harness that hangs down from the rooftop unit and plugs into the controller. While the 13.5K air conditioner might seem like overkill do remember your enclosed trailer is going to have virtually 0 insulation. So it is going to take a lot more cooling power to keep it cool on the hot days. Hello Frank, we do offer AC units that will replace your current Dometic unit. In most cases it makes sense to replace only the rooftop portion and leave everything inside the camper as-is. That said, I am not sure how old your current unit is, but a new upgraded distribution box might be a good idea. They are not terribly expensive, and it will be easy to add on since you will be disconnecting and removing the rooftop portion anyways.
