The 12 volt power on the 7-way will not have enough juice for an electric winch so there's no way to use the 7-way like you wanted. The best option for your winch is really using a quick connect wiring kit, the Bulldog Winch Wiring Kit for ATV/UTV Winches # BDW20307. view full answer...
The ventilation on the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch # DL25215 cannot be improved to increase the run time. The cool down period is 20-30 minutes. The motor uses bushings. The maximum strap length the winch is capable of holding is 25'. You would be better off using something like the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW10030 which uses a 50' synthetic rope for this application. view full answer...
I have a recommendation for you Kevin as the top receiver on the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210 is only designed to carry the load of a hitch mounted accessory. It is not rated for a line pull like you will have with a winch. The receiver itself does not have a specific tongue load rating but the entire assembly should not have more than 750lbs of total tongue weight between the trailer and hitch mounted accessory.

You will want to verify the correct size battery with the winch manufacturer. For an example the ComeUp UW-5000si Trailer Winch # CU645010 requires a 12 volt battery capable of at least 650 CCA(cold cranking amps). I do recommend using a maintenance free battery so you do not have to constantly check and refill the water levels. view full answer...
You do have a couple options depending on your trailer Steve. If you are mounting a Winch # BDW10040 to the tongue you would want to use a Roller Fairlead # BDW30003 mounted to the front tilt portion of the trailer which would provide a smooth surface to roll on rather than risking getting snagged.
The other option you have is to simply mount the Winch # BDW10040 on the tilt portion of the deck. This would eliminate any issues with the additional fairlead and may be the better option... view full answer...
Hey Scott, we do have winches that ratchet in and out like you are looking for like with the Dutton Lainson part # DL15721. This will let you feed the winch out slowly like you are wanting when letting the boat down the ramp. view full answer...
The # LC159041 is designed to bolt onto a trailer frame so we really don't recommend it for a motorhome. I'm sure it is possible to make it work assuming you have the clearance and don't exceed the 150 lb capacity. However, you will likely need the help of a welder or fabricator to make it happen.
A better solution is to use the Roadmaster Hitch Spare Tire Mount with 2" Receiver Opening # RM-195225. This will let you mount it on the rear so it is out of the basement. It also has a 2"... view full answer...
