Hello Robert. It sounds like you are trying to convert your trailer over to leaf spring suspension. Does your trailer currently use a torsion axle? Because leaf spring suspension cannot be added to a torsion axle. If it is just a straight rectangle axle, it is possible to add leaf spring suspension.
Spring seats would need to be welded to the axle. We do not offer any spring seats for a square axle, but a spring seat like part # TRSS300 could potentially be modified to fit. You will also... view full answer...
Hi Ryan,
If your leaf springs sit on top of your axles then you'll need the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # SS26MV. If your leaf springs sit below the axles then you'll need the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # SS33HR.
Timbren does offer a few different options for leaf spring suspensions but you won't be able to use both the SumoSprings and Timbrens because they both mount in the same spot. If your leaf springs sit on top... view full answer...
Hey Jerry, yes we have the wet bolt part # 126B2 which can be used with the leaf spring part # DX74XR that you referenced. This is the correct diameter and length needed. view full answer...
If you are talking about flipping your axle so it mounts below your leaf springs then yes! You should definitely take this opportunity to install an axle flip kit. There is no better time then right now. If this is not what you are talking about then feel free to email me directly with some more information!
There are two options to install an axle flip kit which one you need is going to depend on the thickness of your trailer's axle. I have listed both options below:
2-3/8" Diameter... view full answer...
The 7 leaf spring part # DX74XR that you referenced can be used in under or over slung axle configurations. Leaf springs aren't made for either style and can easily fit both. It would be just a matter of going with correct u-bolt kit for the axle capacity like the # APUBR-35 which was designed for 8k axles that are 3-1/2 inches in diameter. view full answer...
Hi Sandra; does your Jayco 23B have standard, round axles (we have no way of knowing which axles any trailer has, which is why I ask)? Assuming it does, and and the axles are 3,500 lb, 2-3/8" diameter axles you can use the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00.
This puts the trailer's leaf springs to the top of the axle and will raise it the same amount as your axle's diameter plus the height of the leaf spring pack. Another option, even if your leaf springs are... view full answer...
The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit # RM-2460-2570 will not change the overall height of your 2019 Grand Design Solitude 310GK. This is designed to keep the trailer at stock height. You may notice a slight difference if your leaf springs are completely worn down but the same would be true if you simply replaced them with regular leaf springs. I double checked the Grand Design parts list and you do have 7k axles so this is the correct kit for your 5th wheel. view full answer...
Hey Tony, so if your trailer has a leaf spring axle and the leaf springs are mounted under the axle then you could use the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00, which would move the springs to the top of the axle giving you the height difference equal to the diameter of your axle, plus the thickness of your springs.
If you have torsion axles you'd need to let me know what kind you have and I'll see if we have a lift kit. For example, if you had #11 Torflex axles... view full answer...
We have one bushing that matches the inner and outer diameters you mentioned with the part # 14-67 but this is a bronze bushing and it happens to be 2-1/2 inches long. view full answer...
Based on the information I could find on your 2023 Jayco Jayfeather 30QB travel trailer it appears you are going to have 4,400lb axles. You are going to need to verify the diameter of your current axles as some manufacturers like Lippert use a 2-3/8" diameter axle tube and others like Dexter use a 3" axle tube.
If you have a 3" axle the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2560 will be the kit you need.
If you have a 2-3/8" axle you will need... view full answer...
Hi Mike,
With the height of your equalizer increasing an inch you might need to switch to 3-1/8" shackle straps # TRSL313 to keep the leaf spring stack level but this isn't an exact science so your leaf springs could end up sitting too close to the equalizer and will bind up. Your suspension should form a 'W' shape with the equalizer and shackle straps for proper suspension travel. Too far in or out with your shackles will cause binding or will flip the axles down on the equalizer. Because... view full answer...
Thanks for all of the information, Robert!
It sounds like you have the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hangers # H248 installed on your tandem axle trailer so to get your Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 7359765-EB installed you need the following parts:
- 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # e54SR
- CE Smith U-Bolt Kit # CE23002
- Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers # AP233
You need a total of 4 leaf spring, 2 of the U-Bolt kits, and just one of the suspension kits... view full answer...
The only bolt-on hangers we have for 1-3/4" slipper springs come from CE Smith:
- Front # CE14016G
- Rear # CE14017G

For your 1994 Born Free 24RB that is built on a Ford E-350 chassis the rear sway bar you'd need is the part # RM-1139-117. We have the SuperSprings part # SSA34 that will work great as a rear leaf spring stabilizer that is a confirmed fit too. But we don't have a SumoSprings kit that fits. view full answer...
Hey Bill, sorry to hear about all the trouble you're having but after looking at the pictures you sent in I'd have to agree with the tech. I think you're going to need to up your springs to a beefier set like the 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer Axles # DX74XR.
These springs, since they'll be bigger than the ones you have now, shouldn't go flat causing your tires to rub. The only way these would flatten would be if the trailer is overloaded, but since you're saying the trailer... view full answer...
Hey Roger, so with both spacers used the overall height of the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs part # TSS-107-40 is 6-3/4 inches. So since you have 8 inches between your leaf spring and frame that would mean that there would be a gap of 1-1/4 inches. Ideally the SumoSprings is between 1/4 and 1/2 inch taller than the gap so a spacer of 1-1/2 inch welded on your trailer frame would be ideal. view full answer...
Each of the leaves on the Leaf Spring # e47SR are 3/8" so this will give the spring pack a height of 1-1/2". Here is a list of our U-Bolt Kits for a 3" axle.

Dexter # APUBR-8

Hi Don. The difference is what the parts fit; the 3611 is for the 2500 and 3500 trucks, but for the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 you need the 4611:
- RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS4611
Please just keep in mind this will not fit models with a composite mono leaf spring. That said, going with the RAS is a really smart choice; it will actively counteract the flattening of your leaf springs when your truck bed has a heavy load (or you're towing), allowing your... view full answer...
Hey Kyle!
The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shocks # RM-2460-2580-3 can be used with disc brakes like the Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD67VR but aside from that we unfortunately don't have any 8K axles - the heaviest we have is rated for 7K. For something more in that HD range you'll need to have a trailer shop or RV dealer custom order an axle for you. view full answer...
Hey Lisa,
To find the correct SumoSprings for your 2024 Alliance RV Delta 252RL you'll need to first check the axle capacity and see if the leaf springs sit above (overslung) or below (underslung) the axles. With the GVWR of your trailer being 8,250lb you most likely have 3,500lb axles so you'd need one of the following kits:
Overslung # TSS-107-40
Underslung # TSS-106-40 view full answer...
