  • Recommended Front Mount Trailer Hitch for a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
  • Kevin, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98860 can not be installed in the front. You'd have to use a front mount trailer hitch like the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31069 which is designed to be installed in the front. This hitch has a 500 lb vertical load limit, a 9,000 lb line pull capacity, and a GTW capacity of 5,000 lbs.

  • Dimensions Of The TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver # TL74FR
  • Hi Leslie, What specific dimensions are you needing on the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver # TL74FR? This hitch is designed for select GMC Sierra's and Chevy Silverado's. You have your vehicle listed as a 2019 Volvo XC90, if you're needing a hitch for this vehicle then I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76194.

  • Will A Weight Distribution Hitch Help For A Tongue Weight Overage?
  • Hey Geoff, a weight distribution hitch will effectively reduce the amount of tongue weight on your hitch. Spring bars will instead help to distribute that weight more evenly between the rear axle of the vehicle and the trailers axle. It sounds like you are pushing the truck close to its limit as far as tongue weight, so a weight distribution hitch will certainly help the situation. Especially if the tongue weight overage is negatively affecting your ride quality, it will definitely be a...

  • Trailer Hitch Option For Trailer That Bolts Onto Frame
  • Hey there Matt; we don't have anything similar to the part you mentioned for a 2 inch trailer frame. There are universal hitches for RVs that you can use that simply bolt onto the frame. Depending on how much capacity you need and the width of your frame you could use the Stromberg Carlson Adjustable Accessory Hitch Receiver # SC45MR. This is for frames 49-1/2" to 76-1/2" wide, has a 200 lb tongue weight rating, and is for accessory use only (think: bike rack). For a different size frame...

  • Does Using A Hitch Extender Reduce the Capacity of a Trailer Hitch
  • Yes, anytime you use a hitch extender or reducer like # HR26 you will lose about 1/3 of your hitches overall capacity. However, since you'll be towing a trailer that weighs between 4,500 to 5,000 lbs, the Brophy Hitch Reducer # HR26 will still work fine because it has a 5,000 lb max capacity. In all honesty, even with the 1/3 capacity reduction on a class V hitch you'd still be in good shape for what you're wanting to do.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2012 Open Range Light 297RLS
  • Hey Ivan, Yes, this is a pretty common request for trailer owners that also want to haul their boat, golf cart, ATV, etc. so they add a trailer hitch and tow a second trailer. This is called triple towing and can be dangerous because you're adding more length and a second pivot point so there are laws and restrictions on triple towing that you'll want to research before attempting it. Usually the state and local municipalities you'll be driving through will need to be checked. I don't...

  • Can B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Hitch Tow 17,500 lb 5th Wheel Trailer
  • Hey there Bob; thanks for the question, and the 18,000 lb capacity B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3255 will work for you so long as 17,500 lbs is the fully loaded weight of your trailer and not the dry weight. Basically, does your trailer have a 17,500 lb GVWR? If so then yes, you can definitely use the Patriot # BWRVK3255. The hitch just needs to match (or ideally exceed) the GVWR of your trailer. So for example if the GVWR was 18,500 lbs a great option would be the 20,000...

  • Recommended Adjustable Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver For A 2021 Jayco Jayfeather 30QB
  • Hey James, In order to find the correct hitch for your Jayfeather you'll need to measure the distance between the inside of the two frame rails in order to get your frame width. From there we can then look at adjustable fit trailer hitches to find the correct fit. For example, the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13704 can fit frame widths from 22" to 66" wide. This hitch has a 2" drop from the mounting points so if your trailer has a rear bumper you might have to remove...

  • Understanding Max Weight Rating for Aftermarket Hitch on 2024 Honda CR-V
  • The 525 lb max tongue weight and 3,500 lb max gross trailer weight rating is what the # e98848 is capable of. Many aftermarket Class III hitches are able to handle more weight than the vehicle they are designed for. Occasionally the towing capacity of the vehicle exceeds the capacity of the hitch. Whatever the case may be, you are always limited by the lower capacity. In this case, you are limited by the weight capacity listed in your 2024 Honda CR-V owner's manual.

  • How To Determine Your Trailer Hitch Class And Capacity
  • Hi James, Your trailer hitch should have a sticker on it listing the capacities of the hitch but you can get a pretty good guess at what the capacities are based on the size of the trailer hitch receiver tube opening. I've attached a chart below that lists the opening sizes and their weight capacities. You'll also need to check your owner's manual to determine the vehicle's towing capacity. The vehicle could have a lower capacity than the hitch does. I've attached a couple of help article...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver With Most Ground Clearance For 2022 Subaru Outback
  • For your 2022 Subaru Outback Onyx, the trailer hitch receiver that offers the most ground clearance is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C67JR. To verify if it's any better than your OEM hitch, you can measure from the inside top of the receiver opening, to the ground. The Curt # C67JR has a measurement of 16" as you can see in the photo I attached, so if your measurement is less than 16", this Curt receiver is a better option for ground clearance.

  • Trailer Hitch Option For Grand Design Transcend Trailer
  • Hi William, There will be a hitch that fits the I-beam frame of your Grand Design Transcend, it just depends on the width of your frame. What should work is the following: - Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 66" Wide # C13704 As the title suggests, this will fit frames that measure between 22" and 66" wide, which yours should, but you'll want to take a quick measurement just to be sure.

  • How Much Ground Clearance Does The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C36RV Offer On A Kia EV9
  • With the Kia EV9 being so new there hasn't been enough people getting a trailer hitch for it yet so we unfortunately don't have any pictures or would have a specific measurement for ground clearance. That being said, I measured from the center of one of the mounting holes down to the bottom of the receiver tube on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C36RV and found it to be approximately 11". You can find the mounting hole in your frame and then measure down to get an idea of how much clearance...

  • Receiver Tube Depth Of The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76025
  • Hey Kyle, I went out to the warehouse and measured the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76025 and found that there was a 5" distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the receiver tube, giving you more than enough clearance for your Velocirax bike rack.

  • Can The Curt C11258 Hitch For Chevy Sonic Tow A Single Axle Jetski Trailer?
  • Hello Edwin. The Curt Class 1 Hitch # C11258 for the 2015 Chevy Sonic is rated for towing up to 2,000 lbs. Based on what I can see online a SeaDoo RXP 300 weighs about 780 lbs. I imagine the corresponding trailer is fairly light as well. So, as long as the weight of the jetski and the trailer is less than 2,000 lbs you can absolutely pull a trailer with this hitch.

  • Recommended Extended Ball Mount for a 2 Inch Hitch
  • That is something I have never heard of. I recommend looking around for a part number or sticker on that hitch before you tow with it to verify what it's capacity is. If someone made that for a bike rack or other application it may not be rated for towing or even safe to use. Feel free to email me directly any pics if you'd like. 9" is pretty far back for a hitch pin hole but we do have extended ball mounts that will close that distance and give you some space from your bumper to attach...
