Based on my research, your Haulmark Edge race trailer has a standard 14" x 14" roof vent, which requires a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" opening. You are correct that you will need to trim the rear fascia to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13114 on your 2009 BMW X6.
Curt does not provide a template for the cut , and says that you will need to mark the fascia with the hitch installed, and trim until it does not contact the hitch. Taking your time will allow you to complete the install without issue.
