When I search your vehicle in our accessory finder, it says to see your vehicle dealer for wiring options. This tells me that your wiring system has specific requirements set up by Jaguar. Sounds like you have the Curt Hitch part # C11339 installed on your 2002 Jaguar X-Type.
The two wiring options are basically two different manufacturer's versions of the same harness. Personally I like the Curt harnesses like part # C59496 better since they have more modern circuit boards and tend to resist shorting better.
