The Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent with 12V Fan # VP-543SP is not going to be completely rain proof (no roof top vent will be), because they need to be open somewhat, as you can see in the accompanying photo a customer sent in of this vent installed. Though I do recommend closing this vent in the rain, you can add ventilation by installing a vent on the sides of your van.

The brake controller connector is typically located behind the emergency brake pedal, where the floor board, kick panel, and firewall all meet. The connector is brown, and usually only one pin should show voltage, with another showing voltage only when the brake pedal is pressed. It sounds as if you have the correct connector. The wire gauge recommended for passing 150-amps of current a distance of 15-feet is indeed 4-gauge. This wire can actually handle passing that current up to a 20-foot distance. The cast receivers used by the Draw-Tite UltraFrame Hitches like the # 41945 are extremely tough and have been fully tested to ensure they meet the 10K GTW/1500 lb tongue weight capacities. As long as the weight capacities aren't exceeded, you'll need not worry about breaking/damaging the hitch.
