- I may have a solution for you, but there's not an adapter for anything like this. However, the Curt Echo # C51180 is only 6-5/8" long, and about 1-1/2" of that will be inserted into the factory 7 way plug on your 2013 VW Touareg. I also don't recommend leaving this connected when it's not in use- mostly for security reasons, and so the opportunities for this to actually bottom out will be limited.
With that said, you could re-mount the 7 way plug using a new bracket like the Mounting Bracket...
